About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development team at Agilent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing novel products, components, and systems using broad engineering concepts and research techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical design for automated electrophoresis instrumentation during development through product release, including creating drawings, BOMs, and working with suppliers on the design and purchase of parts.
  • Follow the latest technology trends and propose new insights for further research and development.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional project team meetings during product development, comprised of mechanical, electronics, firmware, software, applications, marketing, manufacturing, etc.
  • Presenting concepts and designs to project teams as well as management during design reviews.
  • Solve and analyze technical issues in depth to understand core problems and provide sound solutions.
  • Work with external engineering partners in mechanical design and development.
  • Support manufacturing if needed for improvement projects after products are released.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years extensive work experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient relevant experience in designing, building, and testing new products in an R&D environment using relevant industry and engineering standards.
  • Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD modeling software, preferably Siemens NX CAD.
  • Experience in designing, building, and testing new products in an R&D environment utilizing relevant industry standards and engineering guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in common manufacturing processes as well as manufacturing methods and production-oriented design.
  • Self-starter in conceptualizing and designing novel products, component design, or concepts.
  • Good English and German communication skills.
