Position Overview:
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support U.S. Army Europe within our EMITS program team.
The Network Engineer will be accountable for the design, planning, and construction of communication networks. Responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, and firewalls for both LAN and WAN systems, as well as VPN concentrators, while adhering to appropriate network engineering and communication protocols. The role also involves coordinating hardware and software enhancements for LAN/WAN systems and monitoring the network using leading industry technologies. Additionally, the Network Engineer will provide innovative solutions and technical guidance through the engineering design process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and upgrades on networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems.
- Ensure network integrity and connectivity while maintaining compliance with established policies and backup/recovery capabilities.
- Coordinate the procurement of necessary hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services.
- Develop plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
- Design and construct hardware and software components for telecommunications networks.
- Assess new communication technologies to improve network capabilities.
- Stay updated on relevant technology as assigned.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals.
- May lead a team or specific tasks.
Qualifications for Success:
- Security Clearance Required: Secret Security Clearance
- Education: BA/BS or equivalent, with a minimum of 8+ years of experience.
- Skills and Experience: Familiarity with Forescout and CISCO ISE.
- Certification: Must meet IAT Level III Compliance (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP); experience with CISCO ISE is preferred.
- Ability to obtain German TESA.
