Network Infrastructure Specialist

GDIT is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to provide support for our client in a dynamic environment. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in assessing client needs and delivering solutions to various technical challenges of moderate complexity. Responsibilities include the upkeep, configuration updates, patch management, monitoring, and enhancement of network equipment, which encompasses servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and cryptographic devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure network integrity and connectivity while adhering to established policies.
- Assess and implement new communication technologies to improve network capabilities.
- Maintain system backup and recovery functionalities.
- Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software resources.
- Develop plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
- Create network diagrams, document configurations, and outline procedures.
- Assist in the design and construction of hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
- Stay updated on relevant technologies as assigned.
- Execute tasks critical to the organization’s operations.
- Conduct maintenance and upgrades on networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and cryptographic devices.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals as needed.
Qualifications for Success:
- Security Clearance: An active TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- Certifications: Candidates must possess a valid DoD 8570.2/8140 IAT II certification; CCNA certification is required, with CCNP preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in network diagramming and experience supporting DoD Networks.
- Education: BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 5 years in the field.
- Eligibility for German TESA is mandatory.
