Network Infrastructure Specialist

Position Overview:

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to enhance our client's operations. The Network Engineer will be tasked with assessing client needs and delivering solutions to a range of technical challenges of moderate complexity. Responsibilities include maintaining, updating configurations, patching, monitoring, and upgrading network equipment such as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and cryptographic devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure network integrity and connectivity while adhering to established policies.
  • Assess new communication technologies to improve network capabilities and maintain system backup and recovery processes.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software resources.
  • Develop plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
  • Create network diagrams, document configurations, and outline procedures.
  • Support the design and construction of hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
  • Stay updated on relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Perform essential tasks critical to the organization.
  • Conduct maintenance and upgrades of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and cryptographic devices.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: An active TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
  • Certifications: Candidates must possess a valid DoD 8570.2/8140 IAT II certification; CCNA certification is required, with CCNP preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in network diagramming and experience supporting DoD Networks.
  • Education: BA/BS (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must meet German TESA eligibility requirements.

Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000, contingent upon experience, geographic location, and contractual obligations.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
