POSITION SUMMARY:

As a vital member of our team, the Hospital Services Account Manager leverages comprehensive knowledge of clinic operations, patient admission protocols, and ancillary programs to effectively engage with patients and external stakeholders. This role is pivotal in collaborating with hospital discharge planners, referring physicians, and other key personnel to ensure optimal patient placement within designated market areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhance patient volume and improve service mix by delivering exceptional customer support and admission facilitation to referral sources and patients.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with referral sources, developing a robust network of partners to expand our referral base.
  • Conduct personalized outreach to patients identified for admission, promoting our services and streamlining the admission process.
  • Coordinate the admission journey for all patients referred for Dialysis Services, ensuring timely outreach to hospitals and physician offices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to gather essential information for outpatient placements.
  • Address and escalate admission-related challenges according to established protocols to guarantee prompt resolutions.
  • Work alongside clinical managers to accommodate patient shift requests as necessary.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of insurance providers and ensure patients and families are well-informed about their benefits.
  • Maintain an extensive understanding of the dialysis sector and the support services offered by our clinics and community.
  • Stay informed about local market dynamics and industry trends to swiftly adapt to changes affecting patient services and company operations.
  • Conduct market assessments and devise effective marketing strategies, regularly reviewing these plans with management.
  • Meet established sales and marketing objectives while maintaining accurate account records and completing required reports.
  • Deliver professional presentations to all stakeholders.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives as outlined in the marketing strategy.
  • Assess referral source satisfaction with the admissions process and collaborate with internal teams to implement necessary service improvements.
  • Work with internal and external partners to provide renal education to new patients and referral sources as needed.
  • Execute responsibilities related to FMCNA-affiliated Acute Programs, including:
  • Developing a thorough understanding of local dialysis admission processes and providers.
  • Facilitating the transition of in-patient dialysis patients to outpatient services, coordinating with patients and discharge planners to identify suitable placements.
  • Collaborating with outpatient dialysis and hospital staff to resolve patient placement issues and address customer service concerns.
  • Focus on reducing hospital stays by proactively engaging in the discharge process to ensure timely discharges and minimize readmissions.
  • Coordinate renal services for pre-ESRD and ESRD patients by collaborating with clinicians to provide essential education on treatment options, financial matters, and more.
  • Adhere to the Code of Business Conduct and all relevant company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Refer complex issues to senior staff as needed and escalate matters to management for resolution.
  • Assist with various projects as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's Degree is required.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of engaging with personnel at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A professional appearance is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
  • Completion of and adherence to the Marketing and Business Development Functional Compliance Program.
