Position Overview:
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support critical operations. The role involves the design, planning, and construction of communication networks. Responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, and firewalls for both LAN and WAN systems, as well as VPN concentrators while adhering to established network engineering protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance and upgrades on network systems, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure network integrity and connectivity while complying with organizational policies, and maintain backup and recovery systems.
- Oversee the procurement of necessary hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services.
- Develop plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
- Design and implement hardware and software components for telecommunications networks.
- Assess new communication technologies to improve network capabilities.
- Stay updated on relevant technologies as assigned.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals.
- May lead a team or specific tasks.
Qualifications for Success:
- Security Clearance Required: Secret Security Clearance
- Education: BA/BS or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Skills and Experience: Familiarity with Forescout and CISCO ISE.
- Certification: Must meet IAT Level III Compliance (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP); experience with CISCO ISE is preferred.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications.
