About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Green Energy Policy and Funding Specialist to join our team at SMARTENERGY Group AG. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, applying for, and managing public funding opportunities for our green hydrogen and related projects in Germany.

Key Responsibilities
  • Public Funding Opportunities: Identify and apply for public funding opportunities for green hydrogen projects and other technologies, including grants and blended financing instruments focusing on Germany.
  • Project Management: Work closely with our international project development and engineering teams to ensure funding requirements are met and project timelines are on track.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Manage the reporting and compliance requirements associated with funding agreements.
  • Consortia Management: Manage consortia of projects and partners of the entire hydrogen and energy ecosystem, seeking alignment in meeting common targets, policies, and requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and funding partners, lead activities with German associations and stakeholders, and participate in associations' workgroup meetings.
  • Thought Leadership: Participate in conferences and exhibitions, and represent SMARTENERGY Group AG in such events.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or engineering.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in public funding, grant writing, and project management or similar experience, ideally with previous experience in applying for public funding for renewable projects.
  • Language Skills: German native or C2 (Proficient) level, excellent overall English proficiency (in verbal and written), and additional language skills, preferably in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and/or Italian.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, driven personality with an independent working style, practical, analytical, and logical problem-solving skills.
