We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Policy and Public Funding Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, applying for, and managing public funding opportunities for our green hydrogen and related projects in Germany.

  • Identify and pursue public funding opportunities for green hydrogen projects and other technologies, including grants and blended financing instruments.
  • Prepare and submit funding applications, including project proposals and budget estimates, in collaboration with our project development and engineering teams.
  • Manage the reporting and compliance requirements associated with funding agreements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and funding partners.
  • Represent Smartenergy in industry associations and participate in conferences and exhibitions.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in public funding, grant writing, and project management or similar experience.
  • Experience in policy frameworks and advocacy, preferably in Germany.
  • Good understanding of renewable energy and hydrogen technologies and their applications.
  • German native or C2 (Proficient) language proficiency, with excellent overall English proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Driven personality with an independent working style.
