Expert Consultant for Software License Management

Your Responsibilities

  • You will oversee the renewal management of software license agreements throughout the organization, collaborating closely with IT Procurement.
  • Your role involves scrutinizing software license agreements to ensure adherence to compliance standards, conducting audits, and providing insights for cost optimization of software assets through established best practices.
  • You will establish and execute software asset management (SAM) processes and policies that facilitate effective software lifecycle management.
  • Collaboration with diverse stakeholders, product owners, and software original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will be essential to identify and fulfill software requirements.
  • You will manage the SAM tool USU, which includes designing solutions, setting up, implementing, and ensuring its availability and functionality, along with overseeing related provider activities.
  • Your responsibilities will also encompass the development and execution of processes and metrics related to the SAM tool and data collection.
  • You will handle the configuration and optimization of the SAM tool, including entitlements, reconciliation, and establishing normalization rules, as well as managing software catalogs and product classifications.

Your Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • A cumulative experience of 15 years in the industry, with at least 8 years dedicated to Software Asset Management.
  • Proficiency in software licensing frameworks, compliance practices, and asset management tools.
  • Strong capabilities in process and asset management, with a proven track record in managing the complete asset lifecycle.
  • Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement and presentation, with the ability to work collaboratively across varied and multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated resilience and resourcefulness in addressing complex challenges, complemented by strong reporting and data analysis skills.
  • Robust financial insight and risk management abilities, with a knack for budget planning and persuasive proposal development.
  • An analytical and strategic mindset, capable of working autonomously and effectively, with a focus on solutions.
  • Comprehensive industry knowledge of software licensing across major vendors such as VMware, Citrix, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, and Adobe.
