Senior Software Asset Management Consultant

Your Responsibilities

  • You will oversee the management of software license contract renewals throughout the organization, collaborating closely with IT Procurement.
  • Your role will involve analyzing software license terms to ensure compliance, conducting audits, and providing insights for cost optimization of software assets by adhering to industry best practices and standards.
  • You will establish and implement software asset management (SAM) processes and policies to facilitate effective software lifecycle management.
  • Collaboration with various stakeholders, product owners, and software original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will be essential to understand and fulfill software needs and requirements.
  • You will manage the SAM tool USU, which includes designing solutions, setting up, implementing, ensuring availability, functionality, and support, as well as overseeing related provider activities.
  • Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing processes and measures associated with the SAM tool and data collection.
  • You will handle the configuration, optimization, entitlements, and reconciliation of the SAM tool, establishing normalization rules, managing normalized and unmatched software, defining custom rules, and overseeing software catalogs and product families.

Your Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • A total of 15 years of industry experience, with at least 8 years dedicated to overseeing Software Asset Management.
  • Proficiency in software licensing models, audit and compliance practices, and asset management tools.
  • Strong skills in process and asset management, with experience managing the complete asset lifecycle.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and presentation abilities, with a talent for collaborating across diverse and multicultural teams.
  • High resilience and resourcefulness in addressing complex challenges, complemented by excellent reporting and data analysis skills.
  • Robust financial acumen and risk management capabilities, with the ability to plan budgets and advocate for proposals.
  • An analytical and strategic mindset, capable of working independently and effectively, with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Solid industry knowledge of software licensing across various vendors such as VMware, Citrix, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, and Adobe.
