Digital Finance and Technology Professor of Practice

Professor of Practice in Digital Finance and Technology

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in both applied and theoretical research within the realm of digital finance and emerging technologies, including blockchain; Lead the FS Blockchain Centre, fostering a collaborative leadership framework that promotes growth across various initiatives (research endeavors, partnerships with both private and public sectors, networking, public relations, program development, etc.); Supervise the introduction of new activities for the FSBC and ensure its sustainable operation; Assume overall responsibility for the creation and execution of high-caliber degree and non-degree programs (e.g., executive education) focused on blockchain, financial technologies, and related fields at Frankfurt School; actively participate in teaching within these programs.

Essential Qualifications:

A comprehensive understanding of finance (including financial markets, financial intermediation, financial and non-financial assets, financial transformation, cryptocurrencies, and monetary economics) along with the associated technologies and their applications (e.g., distributed ledger technologies, blockchain, tokenization, etc.); For this tenured role as Professor of Practice, candidates should possess: A doctoral degree in a relevant field from a respected academic institution, ideally within a business school context; Extensive academic experience with a publication record that encompasses both scholarly and practice-oriented works; Proven track record in securing project funding from external entities (including industry partners); experience in project design and implementation, particularly with initiatives involving multiple stakeholders; Teaching experience across various educational levels in the aforementioned areas; An interdisciplinary approach and experience collaborating in interdisciplinary project teams; Strong leadership and communication abilities, along with the credibility to represent Frankfurt School in the financial technology sector.

Preferred Attributes:

A well-established national and international professional network; An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for supporting entrepreneurial ventures (e.g., start-ups and scale-ups) within the financial technology (FinTech) sector of the FS community; Experience in crafting innovative programs and networking/communication formats.

This position will be linked to the Finance Department. However, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the FS Blockchain Centre, fostering strong connections with members from other departments and collaborating with academic and industry partners from diverse fields is highly encouraged.
