Staff Engineer, Consumer Search Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our search engineering team at Wolt. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and building high-quality software for our consumer search feature, used by over 10 million customers.
As a Staff Engineer, you will have full ownership of the search feature and will work closely with our experienced team to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. You will also be responsible for mentoring others, sharing best practices, and facilitating expertise across the team and beyond.
Responsibilities- Design and develop large-scale search features using Elasticsearch or similar tools

- Contribute to the development of our product vision and strategy
We are looking for a talented individual with experience in developing large-scale search features and a strong background in designing and building high-quality software. Ideal candidates will have expertise in Elasticsearch or similar tools and preferably have held a staff engineer role in the search domain at a large consumer organization.
In addition, experience in site reliability engineering, including building and integrating tools for observability, logging, and monitoring, is highly desirable. Our team primarily uses Python (Flask, FastAPI), but we value skills in any modern language and framework.
