Position Overview

The role serves as the primary authority for revenue management within the European region, tasked with devising strategies to enhance room revenue and elevate the RevPAR Index (market share) for each hotel in the portfolio.

This position encompasses leadership across two key domains: overseeing regional Revenue Management Systems (RMS) teams and formulating as well as monitoring revenue management and distribution strategies for key accounts in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the rate plans accessible to all hotels in the region, collaborating with EMEA Revenue Management to strategically design and implement new rate plans that meet market demands.
  • Foster strong relationships with essential partners providing revenue management support, including consultations on rate plans, systems setup, and strategies aimed at optimizing revenue performance.
  • Conduct training sessions for Operations and Hotel teams regarding available rate plans, best practices, and revenue management strategies.
  • Select and oversee third-party Revenue Management Service Providers that deliver tools and reporting systems to hotels.
  • Collaborate closely with sub-regional Operations and Commercial leaders to align strategies that enhance Wyndham's contributions.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums and events focused on revenue management best practices and emerging industry trends.

Complexity of Role:

  • This position holds a medium level of decision-making authority, as it is responsible for designing rate plans and systems that influence revenue generation for hotels.
  • Acts as a supervisor and mentor to Revenue Management Analysts, Specialists, and Managers.
  • Responsibilities include strategic planning, analysis, training, and oversight of routine tasks, processes, and operations. The role requires strategic thinking and analysis to present options for review with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Challenges encountered may be complex, requiring a blend of predefined solutions and customized developments.
  • Engagement in projects that yield innovative ideas or methods is essential, with improvements generally impacting hotel performance and departmental efficiency.
  • Participate as a project team member working towards achieving defined objectives.
  • Maintain regular contact with designated property contacts, interact within the department, and occasionally liaise with other departments to exchange specialized information.

Financial Responsibility:

  • This role significantly impacts revenue by ensuring adherence to Brand Standards, Revenue Management Policies, and Best Practices, all designed to generate additional revenues, foster customer loyalty, and enhance brand visibility while minimizing opportunity costs related to rate and inventory management across various channels.
  • The position and its direct reports can influence a hotel's top-line revenues.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive expert-level knowledge of revenue management strategies and systems is essential.
  • Demonstrated initiative in job performance, including the ability to anticipate, prevent, identify, and resolve issues as necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret statistical data, develop strategies, and formulate actionable plans.
  • Capability to assimilate information from diverse sources and adjust to meet specific needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust and instill confidence, motivating and influencing others effectively.
  • Proficient listening, understanding, and clarifying skills to address concerns raised by clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • High proficiency in MS-Office, Salesforce, BI Tools, and designated RMS systems.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics, or a minimum of six years of experience in Revenue Management.
  • A minimum of three years of director-level experience in international markets.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Central Europe/Germany market at a director level are essential.
  • Proven experience in managing key account relationships.
  • Global acumen with the ability to work effectively across various cultures and teams.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is required.
  • Proficient in Revenue Management systems, hotel property management systems, and industry-related reporting.
  • Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
