International Category Director

In this role, you will:
collaborate with various business divisions to create and execute a sourcing strategy that aligns with the overarching category management framework for the designated international category and its subcategories assist the business divisions in articulating their operational needs guide, implement, and monitor intricate procurement projects focused on designated categories, while also offering assistance in additional categories as required negotiate optimal commercial contracts for the organization construct cost models to pinpoint enhancement opportunities along with associated risk assessments evaluate and review suppliers by conducting performance assessments to ensure adherence to contracts and foster a professional approach to supplier relationship management facilitate timely and proactive engagement with internal stakeholders produce comprehensive reports and documentation regarding award decisions and compliance obligations oversee key performance indicators, track the effectiveness of procurement service levels, and advocate for the adoption of standardized e-procurement tools and methodologies serve as a catalyst for change within the Procurement and Vendor Management strategy and represent the Procurement function in discussions with organizational bodies ensure and actively encourage inter-team communication among purchasing and vendor management procurement teams offer mentorship and specialized knowledge support to colleagues within the designated international category assist Procurement in enhancing processesYou should possess:
extensive experience as an international category director / senior buyer or in a comparable role expertise in the relevant area of category management and the capability to apply this expertise in daily operations to enhance category performance a solid grasp of supplier performance oversight an understanding of the operational requirements within the assigned category/categories familiarity with compliance standards knowledge of processes and documentation related to bidding procedures, with the ability to execute (public) bidding processes, draft and review operational requirements the capability to conduct bid evaluations in a systematic manner a comprehensive understanding of various contract types and their legal implications pertinent to procurement insight into risk management and its significance for procurement, along with the ability to identify and mitigate procurement-related risks familiarity with the processing of sourcing requests in accordance with the organization's Financial Regulations and the ability to execute them the ability to conduct commercial offer assessments in a methodical manner proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for daily operations experience in P2P processes and adeptness in utilizing the Ivalua platform (considered a significant advantage) the ability to navigate the existing ERP systemsOur essential criteria for this position
A master's degree or – in exceptional circumstances – equivalent professional experience Generally, a strong command (at least C1) of one official language (English, French, or German) and the ability to comprehend the other two; alternatively, excellent command (at least C1) of at least one official language (in such cases, a commitment to learn the missing language(s) and achieve level B2 within a specified timeframe would be required) Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent OrganisationSelection Process
