Student Assistant for IT Support

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Student Assistant to join our team at the Service Desk, where you will play a vital role in overseeing the systems at our research facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering assistance and support to users of our services, encompassing both First and Second Level Support
  • Documenting and reporting errors and issues that necessitate specialist intervention in our ticketing system
  • Monitoring the core infrastructure of our scientific network, including high-performance computing systems and various IT services
  • Identifying and alerting responsible personnel about disruptions detected by monitoring tools
  • Acting as the liaison for emergency services regarding alerts outside regular hours
  • Executing certified and transparent operational processes
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in both German and English
  • Fundamental knowledge of IT systems
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems is advantageous
  • Competence in MS Office, web browsers, and email applications
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Openness to sharing insights and enhancing team processes
Working Conditions:

Department: Service Desk

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

Shifts available for 24/7 Service Desk:

8:00-16:00, 16:00-0:00, 0:00-8:00

Flexible scheduling with electronic time management

Duration: Semester-based

Compensation: €12.41/hr or €14.00/hr (for Bachelor's students)

Training Opportunities: Access to further training and certification in IT-related ISO standards
