IT Support Student Role

We are seeking a Student Assistant to join our dedicated team at the Service Desk, responsible for overseeing the LRZ systems at our research facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Delivering support and guidance to users of LRZ services, encompassing both 'First and Second Level Support'
- Documenting and managing error and issue reports that necessitate specialist intervention within our ticketing system
- Supervising the central infrastructure of the Munich Scientific Network and LRZ, including SuperMUC-NG, Linux Clusters, as well as email, web, archive, and backup systems
- Identifying and notifying the appropriate administrators of any disturbances detected by monitoring tools
- Acting as the liaison for emergency services regarding danger and fire alerts outside of standard operational hours
- Executing certified and transparent operational processes
- Proficient in both German and English
- Fundamental IT knowledge
- Preferably familiar with various operating systems
- Competent in MS Office, web browsers, and email applications
- Excellent communication abilities
- Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and enhancing team processes
Department: Service Desk
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week available
Service Desk operates 24/7 in 8-hour shifts:
8:00-16:00, 16:00-0:00, 0:00-8:00
Flexible scheduling with electronic time tracking
Duration: Semester-based
Compensation: €12.41/hr or €14.00/hr (Bachelor's degree holders)
Training: Opportunities for further training and certification in IT-related ISO standards
