About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Game Designer to drive the creation of engaging and immersive experiences on Soba, our online multiplayer virtual world and gaming platform. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the core playing experience for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop first-party games and experiences using Soba's tools and collaborating with the Product and Design teams
  • Work with 3rd parties to help them build games for Soba's portfolio, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality experiences
  • Contribute to the development of Soba's creation tools roadmap, driving innovation and improvement
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance user-generated games, making them more engaging and enjoyable
  • Define the strategy for Soba's first-party games portfolio, including genres, styles, and other key aspects
  • Act on feedback from metrics and users, continuously improving the player experience
Requirements
  • Proven experience in game design, with a deep understanding of various game mechanics across genres
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and achieve results with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a logical and detail-oriented approach
  • Passion for game development, with a hunger to learn and improve
  • Experience in building social mechanics in games and/or other products is a significant advantage
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal structure and supervision
  • Openness to feedback and a willingness to continuously improve
  • 5+ years of professional game design experience, with a track record of shipping games from concept to launch
  • Experience working with early, fast-iterating product teams is a significant plus
  • Right to work in Germany, as we cannot sponsor visas at this time
