Your Role
As part of our BCG X teams, you will oversee the complete analytics value chain from start to finish: identifying new business challenges, crafting innovative algorithms, implementing and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully leverage AI. Our product offerings range from fully customized solutions to industry-specific advanced AI software.
In your capacity as a Senior Data Science Leader within our insurance practice, you will join a rapidly expanding team. You will have the opportunity to apply data science methodologies and analytics to real-world business scenarios within the insurance sector, driving substantial business impact. We assist companies in identifying and cultivating growth opportunities that redefine the future of the insurance industry.
As a key member of BCG X, you will also play a significant and proactive role in shaping the strategy of BCG X and BCG as a whole. You will collaborate closely with partners and managing directors to propel our company's growth and business development. Additional responsibilities will include developing and delivering thought leadership, managing teams of data scientists and engineers. We seek candidates who are intellectually curious builders, action-oriented, resourceful, and effective communicators.
Qualifications
We are looking for a strong candidate with extensive experience in the insurance sector and advanced analytics to fill this exciting Senior Data Science Leader position within BCG X. The ideal candidate is expected to be a recognized authority in data science and will lead a team of data scientists and engineers to create innovative products and analytics solutions in BCG's rapidly growing insurance practice. Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
• Comfortable in a client-facing role, managing engagements and client relationships while providing 'thought leadership' to teams.
• Ability to explain complex data science concepts in an accessible manner and serve as a liaison between business and technology.
• Proficient in distilling intricate results or processes into clear, simple visualizations.
• Significant experience applying advanced analytics to various business scenarios and a proven ability to synthesize complex data.
• Solid understanding of contemporary machine learning techniques and their mathematical foundations, translating this into business implications for our insurance clients.
• Strong project management skills.
What You Bring
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in an insurance company or Insurtech startup providing advanced analytics solutions.
• An advanced degree in a field related to business analytics, statistics, operations research, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• A strong record of professional achievements and leadership.
• Seeking individuals with deep technical and data science expertise, sharp strategic and analytical skills, the ability to lead and influence, high energy, and a desire to work in a project-based environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects and teams.
• Proven capability to drive initiatives and create commercial impact in the insurance sector.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python).
