As a pivotal member of our team, you will:
- Oversee the technical execution of Flexa's data science projects, guiding them from conception through to deployment and ongoing support, ensuring high-quality and reliable outcomes.
- Innovate and refine algorithms that enhance the efficiency of the distributed energy system, focusing on optimized aggregation, dispatch strategies, and household-level forecasting.
- Provide mentorship to fellow data scientists at Flexa, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement.
- Promote technical excellence and best practices, contributing to our open and data-centric engineering ethos.
- Drive product development initiatives, ensuring our solutions are scalable and effective, thereby broadening our platform's impact.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, with a specialization in data science, machine learning, or optimization.
- A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in applied data science or machine learning.
- At least 4 years in a leadership capacity, managing data science projects.
- Strong software development skills, particularly in Python.
- Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models in a production environment.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, focusing on data and machine learning tools like SageMaker, S3, and DynamoDB.
- A proven ability to address and resolve complex data science challenges in fast-paced settings.
- A track record of mentoring data scientists to enhance organizational performance.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders across various functions.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Expertise in optimization methodologies.
- Experience in the energy sector, particularly in energy trading or related fields.
- Proficiency in time series data analysis and forecasting, especially in streaming contexts.
