Joint Exercise Operations Coordinator

Position Overview

The Joint Exercise Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing essential support services, which encompass a variety of responsibilities including:
- Overseeing the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) to facilitate the planning of joint and combined exercises;
- Implementing technical updates to relevant systems as necessary;
- Assisting in the coordination and execution of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC);
- Monitoring the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES);
- Validating and unlocking entries to support exercise personnel and equipment needs;
- Collaborating with exercise Action Officers throughout various planning phases;
- Crafting Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) communications at the GO/FO level;
- Coordinating exercise requirements with the funding manager;
- Generating diverse products and reports as requested;
- Offering technical expertise, guidance, and support to the JCX Branch Chief and team;
- Engaging with component and Joint Staff J7 personnel;
- Processing Significant Mission Exercise Briefs (SMEB) as needed;
- Addressing all information requests from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and National Security Council related to the SMEB;
- Providing support for standard Staff Officer functions.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: This is a journeyman role, and the ideal candidate will have operational experience that includes awareness and/or participation in joint and combined operations/exercises at the Combatant Command (CCMD) or Component level, along with a solid understanding of JTIMS. Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from an accredited institution and 10 years of Military/DoD Civilian/DoD Contractor experience. A minimum of 2 years of CCMD HQ experience is required, with multi-theater operational or senior staff experience (CCMD and/or Joint Staff) preferred if the candidate lacks USEUCOM-associated staff experience. Candidates must be willing to travel to various countries as required. A working knowledge of United States' Interagency processes and government agency activities, as well as the ability to coordinate between USEUCOM Theater and strategic levels, is essential. Candidates should be capable of performing under pressure and meeting tight deadlines, as well as working extended hours to support exercise requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) is necessary. A solid understanding of NATO and its processes is also required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Eligibility for or possession of a TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is mandatory.
