Position Overview
The Joint Military Exercise Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support services for joint and combined training operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) to streamline planning for joint and combined exercises.
- Implementing necessary technical updates to associated systems.
- Facilitating the execution of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC).
- Monitoring the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and validating entries to ensure accurate exercise personnel and equipment requirements.
- Collaborating with exercise Action Officers throughout various planning phases.
- Crafting Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) communications at the GO/FO level.
- Coordinating exercise requirements with funding managers.
- Producing reports and documentation as requested.
- Offering technical expertise and support to the JCX Branch Chief and staff.
- Engaging with component and Joint Staff J7 personnel.
- Processing Significant Mission Exercise Briefs (SMEB) as necessary.
- Responding to information requests from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and National Security Council related to the SMEB.
- Supporting standard Staff Officer functions.

Position Requirements
Minimum qualifications for this journeyman position include:
- Operational experience with a focus on joint and combined operations/exercises at the Combatant Command (CCMD) or Component level, along with a solid understanding of JTIMS.
- A Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from an accredited institution and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Military/DoD Civilian/DoD Contractor roles.
- At least 2 years of experience at CCMD HQ; multi-theater operational or senior staff experience is preferred, especially if the candidate lacks USEUCOM-related staff experience.
- Willingness to travel within the USEUCOM Area of Responsibility.
- Familiarity with U.S. Interagency processes and the coordination of activities between USEUCOM Theater and strategic levels.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extended hours to support exercise needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Understanding of NATO processes and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Eligibility for or possession of a TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.
