CTI is in search of a proficient Lead Exercise Coordinator to enhance our team.
As a Lead Exercise Coordinator, you will be instrumental in orchestrating and managing extensive collaborative exercises for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). Your role will involve close collaboration with military and civilian personnel, as well as representatives from allied nations, to establish exercise goals, scenarios, and training objectives.
In this capacity, you will take charge of the planning, coordination, and implementation of various facets of our comprehensive exercise program. You will supervise the assessment and evaluation components of exercises, ensuring that data collection and analysis adhere to Department of Defense (DoD) standards and requirements. Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior exercise coordinators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate high-level exercise and experimentation strategies and directives that align with mission objectives and operational needs.
- Assess national policies and plans governing continuity programs, ensuring alignment with exercise objectives.
- Utilize a comprehensive understanding of group dynamics to cultivate a shared understanding of complex challenges among diverse teams.
- Collaborate with various military branches and agencies to seamlessly integrate exercise components.
- Oversee the financial aspects of exercise planning and execution, optimizing cost-effectiveness and resource distribution.
- Design detailed exercise and experiment frameworks, including scenarios, objectives, and evaluation criteria.
- Facilitate the integration of experiments into events, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment for planners and participants.
- Manage the assessment and evaluation components of the experiments, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and requirements.
- Provide expert insights to address deficiencies, prioritize needs, and adapt planning efforts in response to changing environments.
- Monitor the execution of exercises and experiments, ensuring strict adherence to plans and promptly addressing any emerging issues.
- Ensure that all exercises and experiments comply with regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing performance, lessons learned, and recommendations for future exercises and experiments.
- Conduct thorough analyses of the exercises and experiments under government supervision and present findings to senior management.
- Review strategies, doctrine, policies, directives, and instructions related to education and training, making recommendations for compliance.
- Manage program evaluation and assessment to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
Required Experience and Skills:
- Must possess an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD), either in military service or in collaboration with military organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field, or a minimum of 12 years of experience in DoD exercise planning in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Alternatively, a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in DoD exercise planning may be considered.
- High level of expertise in military operations, strategic planning, and coordination with various stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in exercise planning with a proven track record of successful execution.
- Strong analytical skills for policy assessment and independent analysis.
- Exceptional leadership abilities to organize diverse groups and build consensus on complex issues.
- Expertise in budget management and resource optimization within the context of military exercises.
- Willingness to travel internationally for business purposes.
Desirable Experience and Skills:
- Experience in briefing and delivering training to senior military and civilian leaders, as well as exercise planning at the Service Component or Combatant Command level.
- Familiarity with the Joint Training Program (JTP) and the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) doctrine and processes.
- Advanced Service Planner Certification, including SAMS, SAASS, or JAWS Certifications.
