Global Direct Material Procurement Leader

Your Role

  • Ensure consistent supply across all MED locations within a designated product category for direct materials.
  • Engage in ongoing price negotiations to optimize procurement costs.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier capacity and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Identify, qualify, and support appropriate suppliers in conjunction with category management.
  • Manage quotation requests and conduct comparisons, including a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Address supply issues through escalation with suppliers.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators relevant to purchasing.
  • Create and initiate orders and quantity contracts both within and outside of SAP.
  • Participate in both internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of processes in serial purchasing.
  • Travel nationally and internationally to engage with suppliers and ZEISS locations.

Your Profile

  • Completed university degree (e.g., Bachelor) with a minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience or a commercial education combined with at least 5 years of professional experience in procurement.
  • Fluency in both German and English is required.
  • Proficiency in an additional foreign language is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP-MM.
  • Proficient in MS Office with purchasing experience in various direct or indirect goods/materials.
  • Experience in contract negotiations.
