Risk Modeling and Analysis Intern

About the Role
Munich Re is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team as a Financial Analyst. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the development of methods, models, and processes for a structured analysis of alternative investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Data intake from in-house databases and integration of third-party data sources, including retrieval of market data from unstructured data sources via Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Automation of existing analysis tools and processes.
- Further enhancement of our analysis tools and methods for alternative assets, focusing on time series data analysis, development, and calibration of risk models, portfolio optimization, and development of cash flow models.
- Participation in projects related to investment topics.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong quantitative orientation and excellent academic marks. Proficient programming skills, especially in Python, are a prerequisite. Additionally, you should have knowledge of quantitative methodologies, statistics, and financial mathematics. Data analysis and machine learning skills, including familiarity with LLMs, are highly desirable. Basic knowledge of capital markets and a good macroeconomic understanding would be an advantage.
