Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Sylvania Group is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead our strategic and operational procurement activities. As a key member of our global sourcing team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials and services that meet our rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Sourcing Strategies: Collaborate with Category Managers and the Asia sourcing team to optimize the supply chain and reduce costs.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, including pricing, MOQs, and quality standards.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards, resolving any issues or discrepancies as necessary.
  • Purchasing Budget Management: Develop and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring alignment with company financial goals, and monitor and analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Cost Control and Compliance: Implement cost control measures, track savings achieved through procurement initiatives, and ensure compliance with purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and manage assigned purchasing team members, collaborating with internal stakeholders, including quality management, PLMs, R&D, finance, and production teams, to understand procurement needs and align strategies.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
  • Language: Fluency in English and German is required; proficiency in other European languages is highly beneficial.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
