Senior Field Applications Engineer

As a Principal Field Applications Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between sales, Technical Marketing, and Applications Engineering. Your expertise in semiconductor solutions will be essential in guiding technical decision-makers through the complexities of power semiconductor applications.

In this capacity, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with sales teams to serve as the primary interface for customers, Technical Marketing, and Applications Engineering within the Aerospace, Defense, and High Reliability sectors.
  • Utilizing your exceptional communication skills and strategic insight to establish yourself as a trusted advisor for technical decision-makers.
  • Identifying and positioning optimal technology solutions that meet immediate customer needs while advocating for their requirements internally to influence future product development.
  • Building and nurturing strong customer relationships through regular visits and interactions.
  • Leveraging Infineon products to assist high-reliability hardware designers in overcoming their technical challenges.
  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of Aerospace & Defense programs to support your customer base and propose innovative product ideas for Infineon's HiRel roadmap.
  • Understanding customer roadmaps, technology investments, and future requirements.
  • Supporting Technical Marketing in addressing customer application needs and defining new products.
  • Analyzing competitive landscapes and developing strategies to enhance revenue growth in the Aerospace, Defense, and High Reliability Markets.
  • Collaborating closely with customers to design system solutions that incorporate Infineon's expanding portfolio of Si/GaN/SiC power discretes, multi-chip modules, memory, and power ICs.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and new graduates in the field.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A proven track record in semiconductor solution selling or design (5+ years in roles such as FAE, applications engineer, or power hardware designer).
  • Deep knowledge of power management and motor control applications.
  • The ability to foster positive relationships with both customers and internal teams.
  • Experience with radiation-hardened and/or Defense semiconductors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The capability to prioritize and delegate technical inquiries based on return on investment.
  • Fluency in English and German.
