- Assist patients with hemodialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or supervisor.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on dialysis treatment, medication, and lifestyle changes.
- Treatment Preparation
- Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment, ensuring it is clean and functional.
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, including blood flow and dialysate flow.
- Monitor and adjust treatment parameters as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation and Communication
- Accurately document patient treatment information, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any notable events or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify and implement best practices in patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification required.
- At least five years of patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
