Dialysis Patient Care Technician

As a Dialysis Patient Care Technician with Fresenius Medical Care, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, ensuring a safe and clean working environment. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families on the importance of dialysis and how to manage their treatment at home.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient-Related- Assist patients with their dialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the licensed nurse.
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatment, including setting up the machine and ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
- Provide education to patients and their families on dialysis, including the importance of adhering to treatment schedules and managing medication.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Participate in the recruitment and training of new staff members, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff, focusing on topics such as infection control and patient safety.
- Collaborate with the education department to design and deliver educational programs for patients and staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

- Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification required.
- At least five years of patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Successful completion of Fresenius Medical Care's dialysis training program required.
