Student Assistant for Portfolio Management / ESG at Berenberg Wealth and Asset Management, Frankfurt

Your responsibilities:

Sustainability is deeply embedded in Berenberg's history and plays a crucial role in our client interactions and the products and strategies we provide. The incorporation of ESG factors is a vital aspect of our investment choices, aiding in the management of significant ESG risks within our portfolios and uncovering opportunities. In this position, you will have the exceptional chance to operate at the nexus of the sustainability experts from the ESG Office and the investment professionals from the portfolio management team. You will gain insights into how ESG influences our investment choices, client portfolios, reporting, and overall investment strategies. You will collaborate closely with seasoned professionals on various tasks and projects related to specific sustainable investment methodologies, including our Impact Focused strategies.

Key tasks include:

Collaborating with diverse portfolio management teams to evaluate relevant securities (e.g., equities and bonds) with an emphasis on material ESG and impact-related factors Identifying, analyzing, and integrating ESG and impact data for comprehensive ESG and impact assessments, impact measurement, and pertinent reports Assisting in the maintenance of internal data and research platforms Preparing presentations and analytical reports Supporting various ad-hoc projects

Ideal candidate profile:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in economics, business, sustainability, or related fields pertinent to sustainable investments Excellent written communication skills, with fluency in English required; proficiency in German is a plus Strong analytical capabilities Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with programming is advantageous Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team Experience with ESG and impact analysis of financial instruments and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, MSCI ESG) is beneficial
