Student Assistant in Portfolio Management

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated student to support our Portfolio Management & ESG Office in Frankfurt for a minimum duration of 6 months.
Responsibilities:
At Berenberg, sustainability is integral to our operations and client interactions. As a working student, you will engage at the nexus of our ESG experts and portfolio management professionals. This role offers a unique perspective on how ESG considerations influence our investment strategies and client portfolios. You will collaborate with seasoned professionals on various tasks and projects related to sustainable investment approaches, including our Impact Focused strategies.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate with portfolio management teams to evaluate relevant securities (e.g., equities and bonds) with an emphasis on significant ESG and impact-related factors.
- Identify, analyze, and incorporate ESG and impact data for comprehensive ESG assessments, impact measurement, and pertinent reporting.
- Assist in maintaining internal data and research platforms.
- Prepare presentations and analytical reports.
- Support various ad-hoc projects as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in economics, business, sustainability, or related fields pertinent to sustainable investments.
- Excellent written communication skills; fluency in English is required, with German proficiency being advantageous.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with programming is a plus.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with ESG and impact analysis of financial instruments and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, MSCI ESG) is beneficial.
