At Adidas, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for managing the product development process from seasonal kick-off to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with cross-functional teams to understand consumer preferences and translate findings into apparel constructions.
- Manage the creation process, ensuring alignment sessions and handovers are in line with the seasonal calendar.
- Communicate development information to Marketing, Design, Suppliers, and LO/OC to ensure efficient product creation.
- Ensure target price and product designs are aligned through predictive costing and negotiate with suppliers as needed.
- Manage handovers from design to suppliers, ensuring all information is complete, and incorporate feedback to improve product quality and cost.
- Evaluate prototypes for compliance with AD, manage fit approval, and ensure materials and accessories meet Adidas quality and safety standards.
- Review size sets for accuracy and merchantability, and research innovation from market or supply chain to implement into product creation.
- Design, Marketing, and Product Operations teams.
- Suppliers, including Merchandising and Patternmaking teams.
- LO/OC teams, including Merchandising, Technical Services, and Costing.
- Ability to translate consumer preferences into apparel constructions.
- Knowledge of material construction and related testing.
- Knowledge of wear and physical product testing.
- Knowledge of production garment construction and manufacturing.
- Ability to fit a garment and comment on changes required.
- Knowledge of costing and ability to negotiate as required.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of Adidas' vision and strategy, and ability to communicate to LO/OC and suppliers.
- College or University degree in clothing technology and/or manufacturing or comparable education.
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in the garment/textile industry in a development/creation/production-focused role.
