Product Development Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team at Adidas. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the product development process for assigned styles, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand consumer and market trends, and collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement product development strategies to meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand consumer and market trends and translate findings into product development requirements.
- Manage the creation process, ensuring alignment with seasonal calendars and quality standards.
- Engineer workable prototypes that meet desired function, cosmetics, market appeal, and manufacturability standards.
- Collaborate with dedicated development teams at Tier 1 partners to ensure timely delivery of high-quality development prototypes.
- Ensure new projects are engineered to cost targets.
- Communicate necessary information and coordinate tasks to support on-time Color Way Activation for assigned projects.
- Support the inception of lower complex designs, components, processes, materials, and concepts into manufacturable and marketable finished products.
- Ensure all materials, processes, and development samples are fully tested to ensure adherence to Adidas quality standards.
- Monitor and guide the creation of Bill of Material information at Tier 1 according to established guidelines and calendar milestones.
- Own full accountability for the accuracy of Bill of Material information at key development milestones.
- Assume basic costing responsibilities, including predictive costing and pre-costing, and participate in costing meetings driven by line managers or peers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to understand 2D images in 3D.
- Ability to create, plan, and deliver presentations.
- Fluent English; German an advantage.
- MS Office skills.
Requisite Education and Experience:
- Four-year college or university degree.
- Exposure to the latest in materials, components, processes, and concepts.
- 1 year related work experience in the athletic industry preferred, specializing in product development, design, and/or marketing.
