Your Tasks

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our team at Voith Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the execution of hydraulic steel structures, including gates, trash racks, pressure shaft linings, and penstocks, as part of our international hydropower projects.

  • Design and prepare system and component engineering, including specifications, test and inspection plans, plans and calculations, interface definition, documentation, and quality documents.
  • Check and clarify interfaces, integrating detailed and component engineering from system suppliers and planning offices into the overall power plant planning.
  • Support the purchasing department in the procurement of systems, the sales department in the preparation of quotations, and the assembly department with specifications and on-site meetings.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests at suppliers and customer meetings worldwide.
  • Monitor cost budgets and deadlines, and be responsible for carrying out design reviews.
Your Profile

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a degree in mechanical engineering or civil engineering, with a focus on steel construction/structures or a comparable qualification. Your professional experience may also be based on previous training as a technical draughtsman, fitter, or mechanic.

  • Several years of professional experience in the field of steel construction, ideally in hydraulic steel construction.
  • Excellent MS Office skills and 3D CAD skills, ideally in Solid Edge. Good knowledge of FEA or other structural analysis programs, such as Ansys, R-STAB, or R-FEM.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and German. Further language skills in French or Portuguese are an advantage.
  • Good communication and organizational skills, a confident manner, assertiveness, and cost awareness.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide.
