Job Title: Lead Engineer - Steel Structures

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer - Steel Structures to join our team at Voith Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the execution of hydraulic steel structures, including gates, trash racks, pressure shaft linings, and penstocks, as part of our international hydropower projects.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and prepare system and component engineering, including specifications, test and inspection plans, plans and calculations, interface definition, documentation, and quality documents.
  • Check and clarify interfaces, integrating detailed and component engineering from system suppliers and planning offices into the overall power plant planning.
  • Support the purchasing department in the procurement of systems, the sales department in the preparation of quotations, and the assembly department with specifications and on-site meetings.
  • Monitor cost budgets and deadlines, and be responsible for carrying out design reviews.
Your Profile:
  • Hold a degree in mechanical engineering or civil engineering with a focus on steel construction/structures or have a comparable qualification.
  • Have several years of professional experience in the field of steel construction, ideally in hydraulic steel construction.
  • Be proficient in MS Office and 3D CAD skills, with good knowledge of FEA or other structural analysis programs.
  • Have a good command of written and spoken English and German, with further language skills in French or Portuguese an advantage.
  • Exhibit good communication and organizational skills, a confident manner, assertiveness, and cost awareness.
