Position: Head of User Experience (DACH)
Overview:
The Head of User Experience (UX) is tasked with shaping and steering the overarching user experience strategy for the organization's offerings, guiding a diverse team to craft user-friendly and impactful experiences, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and user expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Vision: Formulate and execute a holistic UX strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and objectives, mentoring and developing a multidisciplinary UX team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and championing UX best practices and a user-focused design methodology throughout the organization.
- Design Direction: Define and articulate a cohesive design vision that resonates with the organization's brand and product strategy, ensuring uniformity in design language and aesthetics across all products and platforms.
- User Interface/User Experience Design: Supervise the creation of user interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing, working closely with product managers, marketing, operations, and engineering teams to integrate UX into the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring the UX team employs data-driven insights and user research to guide design choices.
- User Research: Lead and conduct user research to gain insights into user behaviors, needs, and challenges, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather data and validate design concepts, and implementing usability testing while iterating on designs based on user feedback and analytics.
- Prototyping: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups that align with product concepts and brand guidelines, ensuring that designs meet the organization’s visual and functional standards.
- Customer Journeys and Personas: Create comprehensive customer journeys, flows, personas, and scenarios to inform design and development, using these tools to map out the complete user experience, identifying challenges and opportunities for enhancement.
- A/B Testing: Design and implement A/B tests to evaluate different design alternatives and enhance user experiences, analyzing results and leveraging findings to inform design refinements and product strategies.
- Product Analytics: Utilize product analytics to track user interactions and assess the success of UX initiatives, employing data to drive ongoing improvements in user engagement and satisfaction.
- Competitive Analysis: Perform competitive assessments to remain updated on industry trends, competitor tactics, and emerging UX methodologies, using these insights to benchmark and enhance the organization’s UX offerings.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of UX initiatives, continuously refining and optimizing the user experience to boost customer satisfaction and engagement.
- Adherence to Standards: Ensure all UX designs and implementations comply with industry standards and best practices, including accessibility guidelines and usability principles, to deliver a superior user experience.
Qualifications:
● Over 5 years of experience in UX design, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
● Demonstrated success in delivering user-centric products and experiences.
● Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of UX projects and methodologies.
● Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma) and user research techniques.
● Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
● Strategic thinker with the ability to execute systematically in a dynamic environment.
● Strong analytical capabilities with a profound understanding of user-centered design principles.
