Director of Strategic Operations

Are you passionate about transforming the food industry? At Formo Bio GmbH, we are seeking a Chief of Staff to support our visionary CEO in steering strategic initiatives and expanding our internal strategy division.


This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge food technology within a dynamic startup environment. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable food systems.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Oversee the business strategy team and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and track the business strategy while managing the company’s roadmap.
  • Facilitate fundraising efforts and lead investor communications.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction as a member of the Senior Leadership team.

Risk Assessment

  • Identify organizational needs and potential risks, implementing strategic projects for mitigation.

Project Oversight

  • Direct and execute key projects across the organization, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Ensure accountability for cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing high-level presentations and reports as needed.

Planning and Coordination

  • Act as the primary support for the CEO, enhancing efficiency and managing stakeholder interactions.
  • Refine existing processes to boost organizational productivity.
  • Prepare for and document critical senior leadership meetings, following up on decisions and action items.

Qualifications

  • Business or Science degree, complemented by an MBA.
  • A minimum of 5 years in top-tier management consulting, with experience in venture capital or high-growth startups.
  • Proven project management capabilities with a history of leading complex initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills, accountability, and a high degree of autonomy.
  • Familiarity with the venture capital and FoodTech sectors; knowledge of BioTech is advantageous.
  • Ability to inspire, guide, and develop team members.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, proactive, results-oriented, and hands-on approach.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
