Senior Engineer for Mobility Ticketing Systems

At the heart of our operations is The Mobilitybox, an API-first platform designed to facilitate the integration of public transit into various applications. Built on a robust Ruby-on-Rails framework and utilizing microservices within a Kubernetes/Docker environment, we are committed to enhancing urban mobility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop a standardized ticketing interface that is open and fully compliant across Europe, collaborating with a dedicated team.
  • Create backend services that ensure our partners experience the most user-friendly and efficient ticketing solutions available.
  • Integrate and harmonize diverse ticketing standards and tariff systems to enhance service delivery.
  • Continuously improve our offerings by developing new features that meet the evolving needs of our partners.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in developing open interfaces, preferably within the public transport or mobility sector.
  • Strong understanding of public transit ticketing technologies and standards, including VDV-KA, Motics, UIC-Barcodes, and ION.
  • A keen interest in understanding user interactions with the tools you develop, always maintaining a user-centric approach.
  • A proactive mindset, aiming to contribute your expertise and innovative ideas to our mission.
  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions.
  • Fluency in both German and English at a native level.
