At LyondellBasell, we're looking for a talented Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our team in Wesseling, near Cologne. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for maintenance and plant capital projects across Europe.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for technical services, focusing on cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Manage complex procurement processes, including negotiations and contract management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive digitalization and improve field performance.
  • Implement performance metrics and reporting to measure sourcing strategy effectiveness.
  • Focus on value creation, cost reduction, and HSEQ compliance.
  • Support the Category Manager in developing key supplier relationships and driving supplier potential.
  • Promote sustainable improvement opportunities with suppliers based on EcoVadis scores or TFS audit results.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and other supporting organizations.
  • Participate in or lead interdisciplinary teams to assess risks and develop concepts related to supply chain and technical compliance.
  • Establish expertise in assigned areas and provide knowledge and expertise to the team.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects for suppliers.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical procurement in an industrial company or similar position.
  • Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent in English and German; French is an asset.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint; SAP and ARIBA knowledge is an asset.
  • Knowledge of 7-Step Sourcing Strategies (Kearney Method) and Should-Cost Models (Anklesaria).
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
