At LyondellBasell, we're looking for a talented Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our team in Wesseling, near Cologne. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for technical services, maintenance, and plant capital projects across Europe.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for technical services, maintenance, and plant capital projects, ensuring optimal cost savings and efficient operations.
- Manage and negotiate multi-year contracts with suppliers across Europe, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and other business partners to drive collaboration and innovation.
- Drive digitalization initiatives to enhance field performance and achieve industry-leading results.
- Implement contract-specific metrics to measure sourcing strategy performance and supplier effectiveness.
- Focus on value creation, cost savings, field performance, value analysis, and HSEQ compliance.
- Support the Category Manager in developing key suppliers from SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) to ASP (Advanced Supplier Potential).
- Promote sustainable improvement opportunities with key suppliers based on EcoVadis scores or TFS audit results.
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with internal stakeholders and other supporting organizations.
- Participate in or lead interdisciplinary teams to assess risks and develop concepts related to supply chain and technical compliance.
- Be recognized as an expert in assigned areas, providing knowledge and expertise to the team.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement projects for suppliers.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in technical procurement in an industrial company or similar position, with at least 2 years of experience.
- Experience in leading and working with interdisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English and German; French is an asset.
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint, with SAP and ARIBA knowledge an advantage.
- Knowledge of 7-Step Sourcing Strategies (Kearney Method) and Should-Cost Models (Anklesaria).
- Excellent analytical skills, strong communication skills, and strong decision-making abilities.
- Strong negotiation skills.
