For a permanent position, OHB System AG in Bremen is seeking a

Satellite Security Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Within the Satellite Systems Engineering division, we adopt a comprehensive perspective on space systems, treating them as integrated spacecraft or collections of spacecraft. Our interdisciplinary methodology facilitates the successful realization of space systems, encompassing mission analysis through to initial operations, while addressing system performance and security considerations. We are a diverse team of approximately 60 professionals from 14 different nationalities, and we invite you to be part of our dynamic environment. OHB provides both internal and external training focused on security and satellite system engineering.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all security system requirements for satellite projects are fulfilled and compliant. You will serve as the liaison among clients, subcontractors, and internal system architects, coordinating all security system operations and providing technical direction.

  • Oversee technical management, coordination, and control of security engineering tasks
  • Manage, plan, specify, and verify the functionality and performance of security-related systems
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of customer security requirements, cascading these requirements to subsystem and equipment levels
  • Facilitate technical coordination of security-related activities with clients, subcontractors, and internal technical teams
  • Contribute to progress reports and meetings, and engage in project risk management concerning security issues
  • Develop test specifications for security assessments and verification aligned with AIT operational plans
  • Assist in security-related preparations for satellite testing and test evaluations, including on-site support during launch and flight phases

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, physics, or a related field
  • Relevant professional experience in satellite design is advantageous
  • Strong conceptual and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • High motivation, proactive work ethic, and a strong sense of accountability
  • Team-oriented and ideally experienced in working within internationally diverse teams
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English; German language skills are highly desirable
