Satellite Security Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
Within the Satellite Systems Engineering division, we adopt a comprehensive perspective on space systems, encompassing both spacecraft and their integrated systems. Our interdisciplinary methodology facilitates the successful realization of space systems, spanning from mission analysis to initial operations, while addressing system performance and security considerations. We are a diverse team of approximately 60 professionals from 14 different nationalities, and we invite you to be part of our journey. OHB provides job-related training in security and satellite system engineering, both internally and externally.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that all security system requirements for satellite projects are fulfilled and compliant. You will serve as the liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal system architects, coordinating all security system operations and providing technical direction.
- Manage, coordinate, and oversee security engineering activities
- Plan, specify, and verify the functionality and performance of security-related systems
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of customer security requirements, cascading them down to subsystem and equipment levels
- Coordinate security-related tasks with clients, subcontractors, and internal technical teams
- Contribute to progress reports and meetings, and assist in project risk management concerning security issues
- Develop test specifications for security assessments and verification in alignment with AIT operational plans
- Support security-related preparations for satellite testing and test evaluations, including on-site assistance during launch and flight phases
Your Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, physics, or a related field
- Experience in satellite design is advantageous
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High motivation, proactive work ethic, and a strong sense of responsibility
- Team-oriented, ideally with experience in internationally diverse teams
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English; German language skills are highly desirable
