Through our advanced seeds, crop protection products, and digital innovations, we empower farmers to enhance food production efficiency, safeguard the environment, and fulfill societal demands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Digital Farming initiative offers tailored, actionable insights to farmers, consultants, and business collaborators globally through our xarvio suite of products. To support this, we develop cutting-edge digital tools for crop management, including xarvio FieldManager, xarvio HealthyFields, ONE SmartSpray, and Horta.
- As a Senior Agronomic Modeler, you will create advanced models that simulate agricultural, environmental, and biological processes.
- You will integrate these models into decision support frameworks for managing crop health, addressing issues such as pests, diseases, and weeds, while refining field-specific decision-making processes for farmers and advisors.
- Furthermore, you will take the initiative to enhance the global model development, validation, and calibration pipeline, while also mentoring the modeling team.
- To establish development and modeling capabilities, you will collaborate with agronomy specialists and developers on a global scale.
- Lastly, you will determine the data requirements for model development and validation trials, actively overseeing and ensuring optimal model performance throughout the growing season.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A PhD or master's degree with a solid professional background.
- Extensive knowledge in phytopathology, research and development management, model creation, statistics, and relevant analytical techniques.
- Significant experience with programming languages, particularly Python; familiarity with Java is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of database management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English.
