Marine Equipment Inspector

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Equipment Inspector to join our team at Lloyd's Register. As a Surveyor of Maritime Components, you will be responsible for conducting direct and remote surveys of mechanical or electrical parts and components for use in maritime or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys of mechanical or electrical parts and components at manufacturers' facilities, as well as perform periodic or initial inspections of these facilities.
- Present deliverables to clients and devise solutions when needed.
- Identify additional business opportunities through your commercial acumen.
- Stay up-to-date with applicable codes and standards, including LR Rules and Regulations, Specifications and Procedures, IACS Unified Requirements, EN/ISO/IEC Standards, and other relevant codes.
Requirements
- Degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (Dipl. Ing. FH/Univ./TH/UH or B.Eng./B.Sc./M.Eng./M.Sc. or equivalent).
- Resident in the Bielefeld area, Germany, with the ability to work from home and travel primarily within the specified area, with occasional travel to Southern Germany and neighboring regions.
- Proficiency in German (equivalent to native level) and English, suitable for the nature of the work.
- A Welding Engineer (EWE/IWE) qualification is an advantage.
- Additional useful qualifications include NDE/NDT ISO 9712 Level II (UT or MT or PT or VT) and experience with vessel installations and components.
