Product Operations Manager

We are seeking a Product Operations Manager (m/w/d) to join our team.

Responsibilities
• Spearhead the formation of an operations team consisting of both internal and external personnel.
• Develop and subsequently advocate for processes related to incident, problem, and change management within the Data Product Line, working closely with the Operations team.
• Oversee release and operations management: Actively manage internal and external dependencies in collaboration with architects, product management, and delivery teams to minimize operational disruptions.
• Provide delivery support: Work alongside the Product Delivery Manager to assess the readiness of products before operationalization in the data product sector.
• Ensure Quality Assurance: Partner with QA team members to implement and uphold quality assurance protocols, guaranteeing the high standard of delivered products and services.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and pursue opportunities for process enhancements, efficiency improvements, and skill development within the infrastructure compute and storage delivery teams.
• Manage Risks: Proactively recognize and address risks that could affect service quality, ensuring seamless operations.
Essential Qualifications
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, adapting to agile and DevOps methodologies for software development.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, emphasizing root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
• Proficient in English (at least C1) and German (at least B1), both spoken and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take initiative in resolving technical challenges.
• Contribute to the operationalization of CI/CD and IaC/gitOps processes.
• Support the development of data services with a focus on reliability and stability.
• Minimum of 5 years of operational experience with production applications or systems, preferably in containerized and distributed environments.
• In-depth knowledge of containerization and container management, including application packaging and deployment customization.
• Familiarity with observability tools and experience managing various relational and non-relational data technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Kafka, Neo4J, etc.).
• Experience with automation and infrastructure as code and/or gitOps.
Desirable Qualifications
• Experience in operating services on Kubernetes.
• Background in operations within hyperscalers (GCP and others).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including protocols, load balancing, and security.
• Knowledge of ITSM frameworks.
