Chemical Regulations and Hazardous Substances Manager

Job Overview
As a Chemical Regulations and Hazardous Substances Manager at Continental, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with chemical regulations and managing hazardous substances. This position requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a process to provide clear guidance on handling chemical regulations within the Business Area.
- Screen and assess the impact of chemical regulations on the Business Area, coordinating actions with relevant parties.
- Provide a central point of contact for customer and internal requests related to chemical regulations.
- Execute notification obligations derived from chemical regulations for products placed on the market by the Business Area.
- Implement and maintain a systematic approach for managing hazardous substances, focusing on chemical raw materials in series production.
- Ensure identification of applicable requirements and obligations for hazardous substances, promoting awareness among relevant stakeholders.
- Establish and train common standards for hazardous materials instruction, in cooperation with the plant responsible.
Requirements
- University degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Technical experience in regulations management, with several years of experience.
- Experience in the automotive industry is beneficial.
- Sound knowledge of legal requirements and compliance obligations for chemical raw materials and products.
- Risk management skills, including assessments and mitigation methods.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Independent working ability and assertiveness.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
