Job Overview
As the Manager of Chemical Compliance and Hazardous Materials, you will play a crucial role in steering the Business Area towards adherence to Chemical Regulations.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and refining a comprehensive process to provide clear directives for managing Chemical Regulations within the Business Area.
- Monitoring and evaluating new and existing Chemical Regulations that may impact the Business Area.
- Analyzing the implications of Chemical Regulations and coordinating necessary actions with all pertinent stakeholders within the Business Area.
- Serving as the central point of contact for both customer and internal inquiries regarding Chemical Regulations.
- Fulfilling notification requirements stemming from Chemical Regulations for products marketed by the Business Area (in accordance with REACH, CPL, etc.).
- Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing a systematic framework for the management of hazardous substances, particularly focusing on chemical raw materials utilized in series production.
- Ensuring the identification of relevant requirements and obligations, emphasizing regulatory restrictions on hazardous substances, while promoting awareness of legal requirements among stakeholders.
- Creating, disseminating, and training on standardized procedures based on regulatory mandates for hazardous materials across all production and non-production materials in collaboration with plant management.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field (e.g., B. Eng.).
- Significant technical experience in regulations management.
- Familiarity with the automotive sector is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of Legal Requirements & Compliance Obligations concerning Chemical Raw materials and Chemical products.
- Proficiency in Risk Management, including assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to work independently and assertively.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
