Position Overview

As the Manager of Chemical Compliance and Hazardous Materials, you will play a crucial role in steering the Business Area towards adherence to Chemical Regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing, implementing, and refining a comprehensive process to provide clear directives for managing Chemical Regulations within the Business Area.
  • Monitoring and evaluating new and existing Chemical Regulations that may impact the Business Area.
  • Analyzing the implications of Chemical Regulations and coordinating necessary actions with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Serving as the primary internal contact for inquiries related to Chemical Regulations from both customers and internal teams.
  • Carrying out notification duties as mandated by Chemical Regulations for products marketed by the Business Area (in accordance with REACH, CPL, etc.).
  • Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing a systematic approach for managing hazardous substances, particularly focusing on chemical raw materials used in series production.
  • Ensuring the identification of applicable regulatory requirements and obligations concerning hazardous substances, while promoting awareness among stakeholders in the Business Area.
  • Creating, implementing, and providing training on standardized procedures based on regulatory requirements for hazardous materials across all materials used in production and non-production areas, in collaboration with plant management.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field (e.g., B. Eng.).
  • Several years of technical experience in regulations management.
  • Experience within the automotive sector is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Legal Requirements and Compliance Obligations pertaining to Chemical Raw Materials and Products.
  • Proficiency in Risk Management, including assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate assertiveness.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
