Senior Researcher in Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality

About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the University of Bremen. The successful candidate will be working on a project that focuses on developing novel methods for extracting information from scanned artworks and visualizing them for art historians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with art historians to define representations, structures, and similarity measures for scanned artworks
  • Develop software tools for art historians to classify rocaille ornaments, establish chains of evolutions of designs, and distinguish between different authors
  • Apply machine learning, computer vision, graph algorithms, and geometric computing to solve challenging problems in computer science
  • Work closely with a dynamic and friendly team of computer graphics researchers
Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, physics, mathematics, or computational engineering. Required skills include solid experience in programming and software development, as well as a good command of English. Ideally, the candidate should have knowledge of machine learning and computer vision, and be capable of effectively applying mathematical methods.
