Your Career Path
The Solutions Consultant Manager role represents a modern evolution of the traditional Sales Engineer Manager position, focusing on leading teams to effectively assist our clients in comprehending their environments, offering solution insights, and ensuring they realize the value of their investments with Palo Alto Networks.
In this capacity, you will serve as the technical authority for the Solutions Consulting team, specifically for our Strategic Automotive and Manufacturing clients. Collaborating closely with the District Sales Manager, you and your team will cultivate relationships with clients, aiming to help them identify and thwart advanced cyber threats. Your expertise will guide clients on the optimal applications to deploy from our platform, ensuring they remain at the forefront of cybersecurity.
As the technical lead for your designated territory, you will mentor and guide your team in crafting innovative technical solutions that secure essential business objectives and maximize the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. You will advocate for our industry leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, positioning Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for your clients. Additionally, you will foster talent within your team and provide constructive feedback to the product management team regarding new feature requests and product enhancements based on insights gained from client interactions.
Your Contributions
- Recruit and onboard new Solutions Consultants, ensuring the acquisition of top-tier talent in the industry.
- Responsible for training, mentoring, and evaluating team members, fostering engagement and success in their careers.
- Support the field Solutions Consultant team in complex evaluations and problem-solving within challenging client environments.
- Lead and coach the team on effective technical validation efforts based on best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
- Define, create, and monitor individual development plans for team members.
- Collaborate closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure comprehensive customer implementation and solution adoption.
- Provide impactful technical leadership during client interactions, sharing security trends and best practices utilized by other clients to enhance the selling process.
- Drive Palo Alto Networks Platformization initiatives within your accounts.
- Work in tandem with the Domain Consultant Manager to optimize resource utilization and align necessary resources to your projects.
- Act as a point of escalation to collaborate with pre-sales and post-sales teams for any arising issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients to solidify reference accounts and assist account teams in developing strategies to drive additional business.
- Present as an expert to clients at all levels, from technical staff to executive leadership.
- Discuss competitor offerings in the market and position ours as the superior alternative.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to establish requirements and product features for large clients, providing valuable feedback from customer interactions.
- Expect to travel 30-50% within the region.
Qualifications
Your Background
- Experience in a pre-sales System Engineer Manager role or a similar position, involving technical strategic engagements with large clients.
- Knowledge of security product market trends and awareness of our roadmap and technology development efforts; familiarity with competitor offerings is advantageous.
- Collaborate with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
- Proven track record as a people manager for seasoned professionals.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Quota-driven mindset focused on delivering the best solutions for clients as a trusted advisor.
- Proficiency in business-level German and English.
