Job Summary

OHB System AG's System Software division is seeking a Team Lead SCSW Development to lead the creation of satellite control software, from requirements engineering through design and implementation to unit testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, leadership skills, and experience in complex system development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide leadership to the team, inspiring a culture of excellence, collaboration, responsibility, and trust.
  • Employee Development: Foster the professional growth of team members through mentorship, training, and constructive feedback, both in terms of space system software development and personal/soft skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of Satellite Control Software engineering.
  • Process Enhancement: Support the introduction of new processes and tools, implementing process improvements within the department, and ensuring their application and compliance in projects.
  • Knowledge Development and Transfer: Collaborate across teams and with Software Division management colleagues to ensure cross-project knowledge transfer, promote standardization, and facilitate communication of overarching information; support the definition and execution of technology development or FFE projects.
  • Project Staffing and Recruiting: Analyze and monitor personnel staffing needs for individual projects, initiate recruitment, and participate in the recruitment process in collaboration with the head of department and the HR business partner.
  • Conflict Resolution: Support the resolution of conflicts.

Requirements

  • Completed studies in a suitable field (aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, etc.) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in software engineering of complex systems.
  • High degree of communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a team, a sense of responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset, as well as a high degree of result orientation and cost awareness.
  • Advanced proficiency in English and proficiency in German or willingness to learn German.
